Climate Change and Soil Dynamics: A Crop Modelling Approach

The impact of global climate change is a challenge to the sustainability many ecosystems, including soil systems. However, performance properties under future was rarely assessed. Therefore, this study carried out evaluate selected processes using an agri-environmental modeling approach Sri Lanka. Agricultural Production Systems Simulator (APSIM) model used simulate and plant-related recent past (1990–2019) (2041–2070) climates. Future data were obtained for regional (RCM) representative concentrations pathway 4.5 scenarios. Rainfalls are going be decreased in all tested locations scenarios while maximum temperature showcased rises. According simulated results, average yield reduction 7.4%. nitrogen content storage organs paddy declined (by 6.4–25.5%) as reason change. In general, extractable water relative permanent wilting point (total available water), infiltration, biomass carbon lost atmosphere increased climate. This provides primary-level prediction dynamics change, which needs fieldwork.
